Mall cop

This is a comedy written and directed by Kevin James (Paul Blart), also starring Raini Rodriguez as his daughter Maya Blart.

It all starts when Paul dreams about being a real cop, saving lives and protecting people no matter what. Unfortunately for him, his got sugar problems, so when he lacks sugar he faints for a couple of minutes. This same problem has costed him the police academy graduation certificate and he is not able to become a real hero. In the mall where he works everything is quiet and the most dangerous event for him was when he gave a ticket to a man in wheelchair, and constantly fall in love of the girl with red hair.

One day he is assigned a trainee; his duty is to teach him to take care of the mall when all closes up. What nobody knew was that he was planning on getting the stores account codes with a well prepared team of skillful teenagers, that same day. So when the mall is closed and they believe everybody is out, except the people in the bank, they cut the light and get off the good boy’s mask.

Blart was checking the videogames store when it all happened, and he was the only one that could call the police, until he saw his beloved one as a hostage. He made it personal, and he was decided to take them down one by one until the danger is gone. But that was not it, his daughter brought him dinner and was caught by a guy that recognized later and used her to negotiate.

A long and funny fight takes place later in the airport when all is almost over, when suddenly the chief of SWAT forces took the codes and wanted to keep them for himself. He was disarmed later by an old man in charge of the mall security, and Blart becomes a hero and keeps the girl.

In my opinion this is a hilarious movie that you should see on a weekend off, it’s guaranteed that you’ll laugh with white humor and there is not a single boring part.

Just Like Heaven

Do you think love stops when someone dies? Well, ask again when you look at my next recommendation, Just Like Heaven.

Elizabeth Masterson, a young emergency medicine physician whose work is her whole life, is in a serious car accident while on her way to a blind date. Three months later, David Abbott, a landscape architect recovering from the sudden death of his wife, moves into the apartment that had been Elizabeth's, after 'discovering' it in what seems to be a fateful happenstance.
Elizabeth's spirit begins to appear to David in the apartment with ghostly properties and abilities that make it clear that something is not right. She can suddenly appear and disappear, walk or move through walls and objects, and once takes over his actions. When they meet, they are both surprised, as Elizabeth is still unaware of her recent history and refuses to think she is dead. David tries to have her spirit exorcised from the apartment, but to no avail. Since only David can see and hear her, others think that he is hallucinating and talking to himself.
Together, assisted by a psychic bookstore clerk, Darryl, Elizabeth and David find out who she is, what happened to her, and why they are connected. She is not dead, but in a coma, her body being kept on life support at the hospital where she used to work. When David discovers that in accordance with her living will, she will soon be allowed to die, he tries to prevent this by telling Elizabeth's sister, Abby, that he can see her and what the situation involves.

Abby thinks David is mentally disturbed and drives him out of her house. Desperate, David decides to prevent Elizabeth's death by stealing her from the hospital.

So romantic, don’t you think? This movie is very beautiful, it is the proof that it doesn’t matter if two souls are separated in reality, when they are destined to be together they will do their best to meet each other. I recommend it in its entirety, now you have plans for this weekend.

Pixels

This comedy is directed by Chris Columbus and starring by Adam Samdler, Kevin James, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and Michelle Monaghan.

The plot starts when a kid with excellent arcade skills tries to prove he is the best doing something and that his life is made to do something important. When this kid finds out there will be a national arcade tournament he immediately enrolls himself. He made it to the finals, but he lost because the other guy cheated, which he found out when they were adults and aliens invaded earth, because they sent the competition video to the space seeking to communicate with other beings.

He grew up and became a mechanic that installs hardware everywhere, and his best friend that supported him all the time became the president of the US. One day when he was about to install a software for a kid, he met a beautiful woman that worked for the president’s intel military, when suddenly they received an alert of attack in one of their air bases. The enemies that witnesses described used special weapons leaving pixels instead of a fallen wall.

Concerned by the unknown forces that attacked them, they go home. In that moment when he is driving the van, somebody hidden in the back scares him and suddenly breaks, ejecting the gay of the back. He was Ludlow an old friend that had always thought the government had all kind of conspiracies. This time he is right about an alien attack, and got a communicate giving the coordinates of the next attack.

Violet, the woman he met recently, gathered intel to create light canons capable of destroying the new enemies. Everything was fine until they realized they needed one more player, the ‘flamethrower’, that was in jail for different reasons. As in the tournament, in one of their fights against Pac Man, he used a high speed code and the aliens said they had lost their planet because of that.

In the last fight they had to beat Donkey Kong in the mother spaceship, the game Sam could never have achieved to win, until this important day when the world was in his hands.

In my opinion, this movie gives a message to kids and adults. This one says that you can be good at something and accomplish your dreams when you grow up, but you don’t have to quit. To the adults, this movie shows that it is never too late to try to accomplish your dreams, even if you thought everything was lost. With your family and friends alongside you there is nothing you can’t do.
